This equipment is designed for roasting, cooling and cleaning sunflower seeds, peanuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, soybeans, green coffee, etc. The source of heat is a burner which can operate with natural gas or other media. This oven can both dry and roast any kind of seeds and nuts regardless of the initial moisture content, including those treated in a salt solution (provided that the main parts are made of stainless steel – see price).
The most important feature of this equipment for sunflower seeds is the air-roasting process. It has been practised for a long time on coffee, a product much more difficult to roast than sunflower seeds, peanuts, etc. Coffee is a very ‘finicky’ product and must be heated with air, not with heat coming from metal. If it is not heated with air, the coffee will already be burnt on the outside. Seeds, peanuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, etc. in principle, can be roasted in conventional ovens as well, but the product of exceptional quality is obtained only in such ovens. In addition, it is much more difficult for the roaster to spoil the product as it is gently roasted with air. For peanuts and other nuts this oven has an additional beneficial feature: for the same reasons, the oil in these products fries much less and the ratio which indicates oxidation of fats and product ageing (when there is an unpleasant smell inside the bag) is much lower.
In this oven, compared to the PSZH-18BD, more attention must be focused on the dusting properties of the seeds during roasting (the difference is not great, but there is a difference). Some varieties of sunflower seeds can give off a coating, which is then left on the hands when the product is consumed. If you use a polishing machine after the roasting process, this problem disappears on all varieties of seeds.
Distinctive features of the roasting equipment:
- the design, without deviation, is in the style of the best german manufacturer (aka world leader), so all the components have been very well tested for over a century;
- the low price for such a solid machine is the result of manufacturing all the mechanical components in-house (closed loop – PC Lidiya);
- good machine reliability is achieved by the use of all high quality components: burner – Germany, drives – Italy, other components – Japan;
- roasting costs in a gas-fired oven are 10-12 times lower than in an electric oven.
The advantages in operation of the seeds roasting equipment:
- after roasting, the product is immediately poured into the cooler, where it is cooled and further cleared of debris;
- minimised space and product transport during the roasting-cooling phase.
